William George Schwer, 73, went home to his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, August 11, 2020, at the family home in Alger with his loving wife of 52 years by his side.
He was a Vietnam Veteran and spent 4 years in the U.S. Navy. William started his career as a teenager in his dad's shop, Ideal Machine, learning to be a Machinist. He worked at Skagit Steel/Bendix, Uniflight, and Conoco/Philips Refinery. When he retired he started his own shop, Alger Machine Works.
He was an avid lover of Buick cars, buying a 36 Buick Business Coup at the age of 16 and restored it to its former glory.
William (Bible Bill) was survived by his wife, Nancy Schwer; daughters, Martina Mott, Amee Schwer, Annie (William) Cory, Jocelyn Schwer; sons, William Andrew (Laura) Schwer, Matthew Schwer; grandchildren, Timothy Mott, Issac Harvie, Joseph Mott, Ken Schwer, Jocelyn Schwer, Jessica Schwer, Elizabeth Cory; 4 great-grandchildren; brother, John (Kathy) Schwer; sister, Mary Muir; nephew, Brian Schwer; "adopted" sons, Jesse Waldrip, Brandon Crandall, Jesse Pendell; numerous cousins, and friends.
He is preceded by his parents; William L. and Margaret (Proulx) Schwer.
A Celebration of Williams life will be held on Sunday, August 30, 2020 at 1:00PM at the family home, followed by an ice cream social. Donations can be made to the Burned Children's Recovery Foundation, 409 Wood Pl., Everett, WA 98203. Share your memories of William and sign the online guest register.
