William "Bill" Arthur Thompson, Jr, a resident of Sedro-Woolley, Washington passed away at his home on December 11,2021 from complications of a Glioblastoma cancer.

Bill was born on September 15,1951 in Quantico Virginia, the son of William A Thompson and Leona O Gay.

Bill met his wife of 43 years here in Skagit Valley in 1975 after his discharge from the Marine Corps when she came to the valley to visit a friend from her hometown.

Bill and Viv soon moved to South Lake Tahoe, CA during the winter of 1976 to be "ski bums" while working at the casinos and ski slopes.  They were married on June 24, 1976, in Lake Tahoe and they made their home there for four years until returning to Pennsylvania.  In 1983, they then moved to Redding, CA where they lived until 1996 when they finally resettled in the Skagit Valley.

Bill enjoyed sitting on the porch at night, fishing and camping and watching movies.

Bill is survived by his daughter, Jan and sons, Doug and Dustin and other extended family.  He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Leona, and his younger brother, Steve.

Private burial was held at the Tahoma National Cemetery on Thursday, December 16, 2021.  A memorial will be held at a later date.  Share your memories of Bill and sign the online guest register.
